Gramya Resource Centre

Gramya is registered as a non-profit voluntary organisation working in the poverty-stricken Nalgonda District of Andhra Pradesh. They work in the lambada hamlets and other villages of the Devarakonda area of Nalgonda district, about 150 kms east of Hyderabad.

Gramya was founded by six women 21 years ago, with a vision to create political, social and economic opportunities for women, especially tribal and dalit women, to help secure their rights, to improve their lives and livelihoods and to realise their full potential. They have been battling female infanticide and sale of girl babies while trying to improve the livelihood of tribal women and improving access to better healthcare systems. 

Gramya supports both the education and Food requirements of girls who are from underprivileged (SC, ST,OBC) who have not been supported by their parents and society.

  • RV Diya Trust provides monthly groceries of up to INR 12,000.
  • RV Diya has donated 2.5 quintals of Dal (amounting to Rs 25000) to Gramya in Secunderabad, which is used to make laddus and food packets of food and delivered to girl students and their families in Deverakonda.
  • RV diya has also donated 50 bedding mattresses, 29 school bags, 30 plastic chairs and weighing machine for kids at Gramya
